Agtoberfest

We had a fun-filled weekend! Saturday morning we took the boys to Agtoberfest at VT's livestock arena. A lot of the activities were better suited for older children but Brady and Ian still found some fun things to do. First, we watched some girls getting horseback riding lessons.

We went inside and found lots of animals to watch and pet. There was an incubator full of chicks, and a college student took out one for the boys to pet. (In the picture, Brady and Ian are watching the chicks in the incubator rather than looking at the one in the girl's hand.) Brady petted the chick gently but Ian grabbed it a little more forcefully. If you're familiar with the book Of Mice and Men, you'll understand why we quickly moved on to the next station!

Next, we saw some sheep with their lambs, a couple of donkeys, and a cow.
The Forestry Club had a table with a bunch of animal skins. Brady even touched the (live) snake!
The boys got to paint their own pumpkins. Here, they're trying to decide which pumpkins to choose. They worked very hard on their pumpkins.

We stopped for a picture on the way out - this is the best we could do!
