The last of our vacation photos

Both boys were so proud of themselves for drinking out of straws this week.

Ian finished off Jeremy's orange juice...

...then cried when it was all gone.

Brady was very bored on the car ride home so he decided to chew on his feet.

When Ian realized Brady got laughs from Jeremy and I, he had to do it too.

Brady was worn out!

Vacuuming

Maybe we should teach them how to do windows and bathrooms next.

Bubbles

Nana brought some bubbles to Hilton Head and Brady and Ian had a blast!

Fun at the pool

We took the boys to the pool on Saturday and had a great time. There was a large play area near the pool with about 20 or 30 small fountains that would spray water at different times. The boys ran around from fountain to fountain and splashed in the water.

Here is a clip of Ian playing in the fountains. He tried to drink the water from most of them!

The boys didn't like the pool as much as we thought they would. They loved it last July, and they always enjoy splashing around in the bathtub, so this came as a bit of a surprise. We think maybe the water in the kiddie pool was a little too chilly for them. We took Ian in the adult pool with us, and it was much warmer. He finally started to enjoy himself but Brady didn't even want to get in with us.

This is a clip of Ian near the pool, dancing to the reggae music that was playing.

Back to the ocean

There were lots of things to look at on the beach today.  Brady and Ian enjoyed looking at the seagulls and waving at everyone (literally everyone) that we passed.  Here, they are looking at a jellyfish.  We passed about a dozen jellyfish that had washed up on the beach today.

There were two men kitesurfing and the boys were fascinated by the kites.

Getting one last look at the kites as we passed by:

Brady sweeping the floor

Brady saw Jeremy using the carpet sweeper and decided he should do it too.  I wish he would do this at home!

We got a little of it on video before he handed it back over to Jeremy.

Out for another stroll

We went back to the playground yesterday evening and played for a few minutes.

On the way back we stopped at a swing for some pictures.

Restaurants

The boys have eaten in quite a few restaurants this week and have done very well, for the most part. (They aren't used to eating out when we're back at home.) They used crayons for the first time at Cracker Barrel on Sunday and Ian ate a little of the blue crayon. We went to our favorite Hilton Head pizzeria on Monday and they got to color another picture.

Since they had done so well for 3 days we thought we'd go to our favorite seafood restaurant on Tuesday evening, which is a little more upscale and has less background noise than what we're used to. Not such a good idea. Ian didn't want to sit in his highchair at all. The manager showed the boys a large wooden sculpture of some kind of tropical bird which was near our table. Less than 5 minutes later I saw the bird falling over and heard a giant thump. Yes, Ian pushed the bird over.

Ian did eat some of his dinner but then the short-attention-span thing kicked in and he was ready to be out of there. Brady was soon behind. Jeremy and Mom took the boys outside while Dad and I finished up our dinner and paid the bill. We found the boys behind the restaurant on a bridge overlooking the water. There was a large bird perched on the railing. Jeremy tells me it's a blue heron and I'm taking his word for it.

Here's one of all the guys:

One of the four of us - you can see that Ian is tired of the picture-taking:

Jeremy got artsy with this one:

Of course Ian wanted to eat as soon as we got back to the condo. Go figure.
We've learned to stick to family-friendly restaurants with a lot of noise from now on! Here's Brady back at the condo making Daddy and Granddad proud.

Playing in the curtains

We don't have any long curtains at home, so Ian discovered that he could hide in the curtains in the condo.  Brady thought this was a fun game.

The ocean

Here are some pictures from our time at the ocean on Monday afternoon.

Brady and Ian on the slide

Here are some video clips of Brady and Ian on the slide for the first time by themselves.  Brady did pretty well but Ian's ride wasn't quite as smooth...

The playground

We took the boys to the little playground where we've been staying at the beach. They liked looking at the giant numbers and letters.
