One month!

Leah was one month old yesterday - hard to believe! She has changed so much over the course of the month, and I think you might be surprised at how much she's grown...

She has gotten chunky! According to our scales, she now weighs about 9 1/2 pounds, almost 2 1/2 pounds more than her birth weight! Her one-month checkup was scheduled for today but had to be postponed until Tuesday because of the snow, so we'll be able to find out her exact weight at that time. About two weeks ago, I stopped waking her up during the night to eat because it became very obvious that she was getting plenty to eat! :) She has outgrown her newborn-sized clothes and is about to outgrow the newborn diapers too!

Leah is doing very well during the night, and we are so thankful! She has settled into a pretty good routine: she eats at roughly 8 PM then goes down for the night. She wakes up to eat around 12:30, 4:00, and 7:30 and then goes back to sleep each time after a quick diaper change and a few minutes in the rocking chair. During the day she eats every 2-3 hours.

Brady and Ian go to bed about the same time as Leah. They always have to peek into her crib and tell her goodnight before they get into their beds.

The boys are just crazy about their little sister. They give her hugs and kisses several times a day. Ian loves to nuzzle Leah.

Big yawn!
Leah is such a wonderful baby! She is so content and truly only fusses when she's hungry, needs a diaper change, or drops her pacifier - see below:

She still sleeps most of the time, but when she's awake she is incredibly alert. She listens intently (eyes wide open, head turned toward the sounds) when she hears her brothers in the next room. She loves it when we sing to her, and she perks up every time that happens. I love her fuzzy hair, her tiny fingers and toes, and the way she stretches when she has a full belly, but I think one of my favorite things about her is the sweet way she looks up at me when I'm rocking her to sleep - it just melts my heart.

We are all enjoying Leah so much and are so happy that she is part of our family!
