The boys are saying more and more words lately. For a long time we've wondered what they would call each other, and now we know. They have been Bee-Bee and Ee-Ee for a couple of weeks now. Every now and then Ian will say "Bay-Dee" instead of Bee-Bee. Some of their new words are bunny, ball, wall, man, green, and fly (they learned this when they saw a dead fly on the floor, and now anytime they see a crumb they think it's a fly). They can say "More please" at the table and "Down please" when they want to get out of their highchairs. They have even started to say Mommy and Daddy instead of Mama and Dada - music to our ears!
Now that they're talking more, we find ourselves laughing all the time at the funny things they say. Some examples:
Yesterday evening the four of us went to Target to pick up a few things and get some ideas for Christmas presents. Brady and Ian rode in the cart and they were so excited to look at the Christmas lights and especially the toys. Ian is always much more animated than Brady, and he kept reaching so far out of the cart to try to touch the toys that I was afraid he was going to fall out. He kept saying "Dat!" as he pointed at things, and was making so much noise that I had to tell him to calm down, that we couldn't touch everything. Immediately he lowered his voice and said "Down please" - he wanted to get out of the cart and play!
When Ian likes food, he says "Mmm!" but when Brady likes something he doesn't say a word, but his eyes get big and he nods his head over and over. Last night we had some coconut pound cake after dinner, and it must have tasted great to Brady, because it was gone in a matter of seconds. I asked him if it was good, and he pointed to his empty plate and said "Bye-bye".
There is never a dull moment with two little boys!
